Jayden Daniels

WSHQB • #5

Jayden Daniels completed 25-of-31 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns in the Commanders’ 20-19, Week 15 win over the Saints, while adding 11 carries for 66 additional yards.

Daniels was impressive at times. He danced around in the backfield to find Terry McLaurin for a 16-yard score in the first quarter and later hit McLaurin for a three-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Unfortunately, Washington’s QB1 also took a season-high eight sacks, while struggling at times to diagnose a Saints defense that generated pressure from all angles while putting the clamps on Washington’s receivers. Daniels also missed Terry McLaurin on at least three passes of 50-plus yards that may have gone for scores, keeping both players from what could have been a much bigger day. Daniels and the Commanders narrowly escaped the Big Easy with a much-needed win as they continue to fight for a playoff berth. They’ll have their work cut out for them in Week 16 when they play host to the Eagles. Daniels will still profile as a solid QB1 in that matchup.
