The Chiefs started the game with a red zone turnover on a Mahomes interception, eventually working their way back to a one point deficit heading into the half via a long touchdown drive and two field goals. An additional field goal on the opening possession of the second half followed by a touchdown on the subsequent drive were enough to get the job done against a ferocious Atlanta defense. That said, Mahomes and the Chiefs offense did not necessarily look their best on Sunday Night Football, with little ability to attack downfield and nobody on the offense providing complementary production behind Rashee Rice. Even so, the Chiefs escape with another victory, pushing their 2024 record to 3-0 to start the season. They get another difficult defense when they travel to Los Angeles to face the Chargers in Week 4.
